Families with children are among the fastest-growing segment of the homeless population According to the National Low-Income Housing Coalition, 2008
The golden rule is our essential ingredient. The Sweet Home Project is our philanthropy to help end family homelessness. Through a partnership with One Family Inc., a nonprofit initiative of the Paul and Phyllis Fireman Charitable Foundation, we donate 35% of the retail price of Sweet Home goodies & gifts, year-round, directly to scholarships as a pathway out of poverty to economic self sufficiency. The best news is, not one of the mothers has returned to shelter since completing the program. You may also support the The Sweet Home Project and donate directly to One Family Inc. here.
Ending Family Homelessness: Created in 2001 by Dancing Deer Baking Company, The Sweet Home Project contributes to direct action programs to help homeless families establish stable lives and move into homes of their own. We work hard each year to ensure that as our business grows so does our generosity.
Supporting our local community: We are a company of people who are passionate about food, nature, aesthetics, and community. Based in Boston’s inner city and with a wide range of personal interests and hopes for the world, Deers enjoy making cookie contributions to a variety of charitable organizations and good works.
